Wordless Wednesday!

I'm linking up with Christina at Sugar and Spice for her Wordless Wednesday Linky Party!

This is a pic of my kiddos using MacBooks for computer lab time.  Notice the two fellas up helping other students.  I always appoint two students to be my "technology helpers," so that they can help kids with things like logging in to certain programs, and other kinds of troubleshooting.  Honestly, sometimes the kids are better at computer stuff than me!  It gives them a huge confidence boost to assist their fellow students, and they just love helping each other.
Do you use student helpers in your classroom?

Five for Friday!

Monday was my first day back to school after a WONDERFUL 10 week maternity leave.  It's been super hard leaving my babies, but it was good to get back to my school babies.

Is anyone attending the National I Teach 1st! conference in Las Vegas this summer?  Myself and a few of my teacher friends have applied, but don't know if we will get to yet.  It looks like such a good conference, I REALLLLY hope we get to go!

It's almost Derby time!  That might not mean much to you if you don't live in or around Kentucky, but here in Southern Indiana, we get into it!  I'm super excited that I get to go to the Oaks this year (ok, I'm mostly excited about getting an awesome hat).  If you would like to celebrate the Derby with your kiddos, there are several cute units and activities on TPT, including my Derby Spin, Graph, and Analyze Activity!

Only 30 more days til summer break...not that I'm counting! ;)

If you need a good techie training, my school district puts on an annual one, DIGAPALOOZA!  The sessions are taught by teachers in my district, and is really one of the best trainings around.  If you live anywhere near Scottsburg, Indiana, you should really check it out!

Wordless Wednesday!

We are lucky enough to have 6 iPads in our classroom, and if everything goes as planned, our district will be 1:1 k-12 next year!  My Wordless Wednesday question is how do you organize your iPads (this could be how you organize the apps on the iPad or how the use of iPads is organized in your classroom!)?

Five for Friday!

Today's Five for Friday isn't going to be particularly school related since I still have 3 whole days of maternity leave left! :)

Tball started this past Saturday and I kind of love being a baseball mom so far.  My little guy seems to enjoy digging in the dirt playing baseball, so I hope he sticks with it.  Plus the ballpark food is pretty tasty..

I'm throwing my first ever TPT sale (woop woop!)
Check it out, it ends today!

I discovered Blogilates and it is amazing!  It is a pilates workout program online.  You can start out with the beginners calendar, and each month the instructor, Cassey, posts a new workout calendar with the links to her workout videos on YouTube.  The website is free, you just have to subscribe, and the app is free but you have to pay to access the workout calendar.  So far I love it...can't move my legs, but love it!

Discovered the Cartwheel app for Target (I'm just finding all kinds of good things, aren't I?).  This thing is great!  You can choose from all kinds of coupons, plus you can use coupons on this app along with paper Target coupons AND manufacturers coupons on the same item!  Now THAT is a good deal!
I realize I just used way too many exclamation points, but I get realllly excited about bargains. :)

It's almost time to leave this sweet face (and the sweet face of her big brother) and get back to work.  So bittersweet!

Discount Alert!

I just love it when buyers see something they like on my TPT store and request more!  It makes me feel like I'm doing something right.  So in honor of a recent buyer request, you can get my Saxon Phonics sight word cards for 20% off from now until tomorrow!  There are several cute colors and patterns to choose from...

Who doesn't love a good bargain? ;)

Well Hello There!

I've finally decided that it's time to get back into the world of blogging, so here we go!  I am currently on maternity leave, almost ready to go back (less than one week left *sad face*), and since I have some free time, it seems like the perfect opportunity to get started!  People look at me like I'm crazy when I say "free time" and "maternity leave" in the same sentence, but really, newborns are easy, it's when they start moving that things get tricky.  So stay tuned for all the craziness  FUN that goes on in first grade at the end of the school year!

P.S.  I am excited to get back to my students and my school friends, but I am so not ready to leave my sweet babies!
